GRAND CAYMAN DIVE SITES
Here we profile some of the top Grand Cayman dive sites. There are fantastic conditions for diving all over Grand Cayman, including great visibility, warm water, low currents and some of the most colorful reefs packed with marine life that you will find in the Caribbean. Grand Cayman Island is also home to some of the most dramatic wall dives in the world because it is located directly above the Grand Cayman trench which plunges nearly 6,000 feet just a short distance off shore.
Cayman concierge Hotel was nice enough, the Murphy beds & queen bed were super comfortable. Tips we learned: 1) their specialty drinks are week on the alcohol. It’s just a short walk to Morritts bar or buy your own liquor right across the street and make them yourself 2) gratuity is already added, leave the tip blank 3) the Cayman concierge’s are not there for you - you are there for them 4) snorkel by and under the docks, especially under Morritt’s bar to see the Tarpon. It was a nice place to stay but would recommend Morritts instead, it looked amazing when we explored their resort.
Welcoming and super friendly. Great for families. What a fabulous holiday in a wonderful resort. Staff were so friendly and helpful, unit was clean and fully functioning, food and drink was great. Pools and beach available on your doorstep. We had an amazing 2 weeks there. Car hire, small supermarket, liquor store and Italian restaurant with takeaway pizza just across the road. People have moaned about sea grass on the beach but it was cleared everyday of our stay each morning. Yes, it does accumulate on the beach during the day and the amount varies with the wind and tides but there was never enough to bother us. The East End is quieter and much less developed than the rest of the island and perfect if you want to have some days at the beach or pool. I’d highly recommend Wyndham although you will need a car to access the other delights this island has.
Wonderful staff. Lovely accommodations. Stayed in a 1 bdrm suite. Very clean. Beds - very comfortable. Great snorkeling from the beach....and any public beach on the island. East end is much quieter than 7 mile Beach . Although there is a small grocery store across the street, you will probably want to do your larger grocery runs at Countryside shopping center. Restaurants: Vivine's Kitchen and Easter Star Fish fry - both delicious with generous portions and close by. Stingray City - Capt Chris- White Sands will also take you for a great snorkeling experience. Smith's Cove, Spott's beach....great. Best conch ceviche- Cracked Conch restaurant. You can also snorkel from this restaurant. It's fantastic.
Wyndham reef resort grand Cayman Friendly staff excellent location our only trouble was difficulty with routine hot water Do you need to be aware of the resort daily fee and final electric bill You also need a rental car to get around.
Wyndham Reef Resort Grand Cayman Solo Trip! I went on this trip alone. From the moment I arrived the staff made me feel at home! It's beautiful! My balcony from the room is directly overlooking the ocean! You never have to leave the resort if you don't want to. The grocery store is directly across from the resort if you want to cook to save money. I am going back again! Absolutely 💯 the best solo trip I ever took.
Well worth it!!! I will get the one thing that kept this from being 5 stars. We were there for a week and had no hot water. We complained and it got a little better but it was still just tepid. That is the only bad thing. Now to all the good things!! This property is absolutely beautiful!!! The views from all rooms is the ocean and beach!!! The rooms were very comfortable and the beds very very comfortable!! We were in room 207 A& B and loved sitting on our balcony! One person I want to mention is a young man named Peter. He took all our luggage to our room and we watched him feed the fish. He was always smiling and we even saw him off the property and he stopped and said hi to us. Housekeeping was very nice if you needed anything. They still don’t come in and do any mid week cleaning. The pools were always great! Never had any problems getting a beach lounger. You can walk across the street and go to the grocery store Fosters. One of my favorite things there were the roosters and chickens. They were hilarious!!! The ocean in front was great for snorkeling, the only problem we had was it rained 3 days and it was pretty rough and murky. I look forward to coming back!!!
Clean, roomy, nice proximity to the beach, but additional fees were excessive and will keep us from returning. The resort is on the ocean side of the road with very nice views from unit. The unit was clean. The exterior looks a bit run down- with peeling paint and very rusty dripping A/C's. Those things are tolerable-but the $1000 deposit requirement and $240 in utility fees for 5 days was a surprise and disappointment. For as much as we pay in maintenance fees and exchange fees- this additional fee makes staying here not worthwhile. We also got caught off-guard with their Monday night buffet fee- not noticing the CI infront of what we thought was $35. USD which ended up being $43.00 per person. This is expensive for a buffet without any seaqfood. We spent some time picking up shards of glass off the beach also. Won't be staying here again
A friendly, remote resort in Cayman!! Friendly staff who were efficient and knowledgeable about excursions on the island. Resort 1 BR had large units to accommodate two adults and two teenagers. Easy access to pools, beach, snorkeling, small fitness center. Everything we needed for a very easy, restful beach vacation!
Miriam The Wyndham reef resort is a nice quiet place to go during their ‘off’ season. Snorkeling is pretty good if you catch a sunny day. Miriam is the ‘to go to’ person. She is an energetic girl always willing to help, and she always has a beautiful smile. She will take the time to help with any situation you have.
August is awesome in Cayman! Wyndham Reef Resort was in a perfect location for relaxing and access to everything. The resort is very well-maintained the beach is pristine and they do a great job with the seaweed removal, daily. Next door is Morritt’s Resort and they have a great tiki bar called Mimi‘s. Stingray city was incredible and saw Seven Mile Beach.
